Copenhagen Fashion Week: The World Longest Catwalk

The world’s longest catwalk was launched today to celebrate the Copenhagen Fashion Week. Former top model Helena Christensen opened the World’s Greatest Catwalk with a speech to the app. 100,000 spectators. The World’s Greatest Catwalk took place on the pedestrian street in the centre of Copenhagen, Strøget. The street was transformed into one long runway where 220 models walked 1 mile (1.609 km) and beated the world record for the longest catwalk ever. Off course I was there to cover the show!

Acne S/S 2011 Collection Lookbook

Have a sneak peek at the Acne S/S 2011 Menswear Collection which I believe is groundbreaking and breathtaking. Acne really understands to create fashion in a way only Acne can do and that is why Acne is one of my absolute favourite brands. Jackets are small and tight whilst trousers are wide and flared. Proportions are challenged – waists become higher and tshirt’s become longer. Silhouettes are pushed across silks, jerseys, cotton, wool and microfibre pieces, in an attempt to create the perfect disco, school boy look. Acne has also teamed up with French sunglass designer Thierry Lasry for some absolute killer shades (the ones shown on above pic’s). Thom Browne Spring 2011 Collection

Always one to add another something extra into his runway shows here is Thom Browne Spring 2011 Collection. With an all American, ‘Man in the grey flannel suit’ type of aesthetic, this season sees a 1969 dedication to the first man on the moon era. With a full collection of the shorts- suit in a palette of red, blue and white with some straight black and white’s too. With all models wearing pilot aviator sunglasses throughout the show. JW Anderson Autumn/Winter 2010

One of the breakthrough talents at London’s MAN day, the men’s-wear event organized by New Gen and Fashion East, was J.W. Anderson. The 26-year-old designer’s proto-grunge-adventurer collection had raw energy but was well developed and produced, with clothes and accessories joining to offer a complete vision that was commercially viable but creatively uncompromising. Anderson worked on a collaboration with Dazed Digital and Oki-Ni.com to stream the show live and sell the collection online. Not surprisingly, it sold out instantly.
